The Paragon TNF24-3 Kiln is one of the most popular kilns available for Art Departments in Schools and Universities in the world.

Paragon Industries has announced some exciting changes in their legendary top loading Ceramic and Pottery kilns starting in February of 2025.

The standard “TNF” Series kilns have received new Model/Part numbers.  But while these kilns are known by another name, they’re just as well built, and even more reliable now than ever!  Some upgrades:

·          All top-loading Ceramic and Pottery Kilns are built with 3” thick firebrick.  The 3-inch firebrick ensures efficient firing up to Cone 10.  Another advantage of 3” brick is that they help with element life, as the elements don’t “struggle” to reach temperatures.

·         All top-loading ceramic and pottery kilns are equipped with Solid State relays, while the Viking Series kilns use Mercury Relays.  Solid State and Mercury Relays provide extremely long-term reliability compared to standard Mechanical Relays.  Backup Mechanical Relays are installed as well.

·         An Auxiliary Power Outlet (AOP) is now standard on all Paragon top-loading Ceramic and Pottery kilns.   The AOP provides power for a kiln vent.  An Orton VentMaster Kiln Vent is recommended for all top loading kilns but is optional with your purchase.  Should you decide to add a Vent in the future, the kiln is already drilled for a Vent, and a Vent can be attached and programmed through the Touch Screen Sentinel Controller to operate without requiring a separate electric source.

The TnF-24-3 features sectional construction, which allows the kiln bottom and sections to be separated to repair bricks, or change elements.

The top row of brick in the TnF-243 is 2” high and without element grooves. It is less susceptible to damage during loading than a grooved brick.

Hinged at the bottom, the switch box opens forward for easy maintenance. A folding support arm holds the box in the open position.

The 10-sided TnF243 comes with 3” thick sidewalls, lid and bottom. The 3” brick is 20% thicker than the standard 2 ½” brick.

The massive lid is easy to lift with Paragon's patented “LiteLid,” which does away with cumbersome pulleys and cords and reduces lid weight to only several pounds of pressure. Most people can lift the lid with one hand. Unlike pulleys and weights, the LiteLid is self-contained on the kiln. No need to drill holes in the ceiling for pulleys. The LiteLid sharply reduces wear between the lid and top rim of firebrick. The truss and floating lid allow expansion of the lid.

The promotional photo on our site shows the TNF243 with the old Sentry Controller.  Paragon no longer uses the old Orton Sentry controllers.  All Paragon Kilns are now built with the Bartlett Genesis Sentinel version controller.
